Title:
OPTICAL SCANNER FOR OPTICAL ACTIVE MATRIX
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3407055
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obviate the generation of dependency of an incident angle on a mode by arranging a concave lens array having concave lenses making a pair with respective convex lenses of a convex lens array between this convex lens array and an optical active matrix.
CONSTITUTION: A transparent substrate 10 is internally provided with many optical waveguides 21 formed in parallel and a switching element array having a photosensitivity on these waveguides 21. The light propagating in the waveguides 21 is made incident on the switching elements to change the switching elements from an off-state to an on-state. This optical scanner consists of a light source 20, a rotary polyhedral mirror 22, mirrors 24, 26 which reflect the light beams controlled in direction from this rotary polyhedral mirror 22, a toric lens 28 and the convex lens array. The concave lens array having the concave lenses making a pair with the respective convex lenses of the convex lens array 32 is arranged between the convex lens array 32 and the optical active matrix. As a result, the mode of the light propagating in the waveguides 21 is stabilized and the fluctuation of the output signals does not arise any more.
