To obtain an optical scanner and an image forming apparatus which yield a high-quality color image by adjusting and correcting the position of a beam spot to a specified position so that the beam spot may not be positionally deviated on a surface to be scanned because of the temperature rise of a scanning image-formation means.
A laser beam radiated from a light source device 210 is deflected to scan in a main scanning direction by a deflection means 22 and condensed toward the surface to be scanned by the scanning image-formation means 216. A vibrating body 233 having a mirror part for changing the direction of the laser beam is arranged in an optical path between the light source device 210 and the deflection means 22, and is driven and controlled so that the scanning position of the laser beam may be the specified position. The vibrating body 233 is constituted of a single base plate where a vibrating element vibrating by electromagnetic force and a mirror part are integrated. Then, the vibrating element vibrating by a piezoelectric effect and the mirror part are integrated on the vibrating body 233.
