To provide a light source device, for focusing luminous fluxes from all light sources onto a medium to be scanned even if light source image height is increased due to arrangement of a number of light sources in lines.
The optical scanning optical system includes a light source 1 including a number of light emitting element arranged in lines; a collimator lens 9 collimating luminous fluxes from the light source 1, a light detecting means 24 deflecting and scanning the luminous fluxes passed through the collimator lens 9 on the medium to be scanned; and rear optical systems 22 and 25 disposed on an optical path between the collimator lens 9 and the medium 18 to be scanned. The collimator lens 9 is formed of a lens the image plane of which is shifted in a direction reverse to an image plane misalignment on the medium due to a difference in light source image height caused by the rear optical systems 22 and 25 by substantially the same quantity as the image plane misalignment.
