To print images picked up by an optical scanning type endoscope with high reproducibility.
The optical scanning type endoscope processor 20 includes a light receiving part 22, first and third memories 23a and 23c, a scanning converter 24, an USB interface 27, and a system controller 29. An optical scanning type endoscope 50 scans light along a spiral route at an equal angular velocity, the light receiving part 22 generates pixel signals in a fixed cycle, and the pixel signals are stored in the third memory 23c as source image data. The USB interface 27 receives resolution related data from a printer 40, and the system controller 29 calculates a printer request resolution corresponding to the resolution of the printer by the resolution related data. The scanning converter 24 extracts pixel data from the source image data on the basis of the printer request resolution and they are stored in the first memory 23a as image data for printing. The image data for printing are transmitted to the printer 40 through the USB interface 27.
