Abstract:
To provide a backlight unit in which a picture maintaining the uniformity of luminance and furthermore having high luminance at low power is materialized.SOLUTION: An optical sheet laminate 100 is assembled into between a light source 42 and a prism sheet 44 in a backlight unit 40. The optical sheet laminate 100 includes a plurality of light diffusion sheets 43 in which a plurality of substantially reverse square pyramid-shaped recesses 22 are provided on one surface. In a first light diffusion sheet 43A that is closest to the prism sheet 44, the recesses 22 are arranged on an outgoing light plane 21a. In at least one second light diffusion sheet 43B among the plurality of light diffusion sheets 43, except the first light diffusion sheet 43A, the recesses 22 are arranged on an incoming light plane 21b. The percentage content of a diffusion agent in the first light diffusion sheet 43A is 0 mass% to 2 mass% inclusive.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
