Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical storage medium that cannot be damaged due to collision with an optical head even if the medium is used for a recording/ reproducing device in a film-surface incidence system and prevent the optical system of the optical head from being contaminated, and can perform recording/ reproducing appropriately.
SOLUTION: In a storage medium where at least a light recording layer, a transparent middle layer, and a transparent lubrication layer are provided in this order on a substrate with a pit and/or a groove, the transparent lubrication layer is made of a lubricant consisting of a polymer in that the content of a constituent that is an average molecular weight of 3,000-10,000 and a molecular weight of 2,000 or less is equal to or less than 5 wt.%.
