Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a compact polarization analysis device with a simple optical system and the structure of a sample support which is suited for the optical system,
CONSTITUTION: The title system is provided with a polarization beam splitter 1 which allows a polarization light to impinge on one part of a sample 3 and a non-polarization prism 7 which does not change the phase difference between p polarization and s polarization of a reflection light which is reflected by one part of the sample 3 and has a shape to allow the reflection light to impinge on a part which is different from the one part of the sample 3. Light from the non-polarization prism 7 is reflected by another part of the sample 3 and then impinges on the polarization beam splitter 1. Also, a 1/4 λ plate 5 is inclined by 45 degrees for a light axis so that the phase difference between p- polarization and s-polarization is 45 degrees and is laid out in front of the non-polarization prism 7.
