Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a circular resin lens which allows the transmission of light in the optical system utilizing polarized light by constituting this lens of an optical material having the double refractiveness at which the axis faces a circumferential direction and applying coatings having the double refractiveness at which the axis faces a radial direction on the surfaces of this lens. CONSTITUTION:The circular resin lens 15 which allows the transmission of light in the optical system utilizing the polarized light is constituted of the material having the double refractiveness at which the axis faces the circumferential. direction. The coatings 16, 17 having the double refractiveness at which the axis faces the radial direction as a whole are applied on the surfaces of such resin lens 15. The direction of the double refraction of the resin lens 15 and the direction of the double refraction of the coating films 16, 17 intersect orthogonally with each other according to such optical system and, therefore, the double refraction of the resin lens 15 can be decreased. The resin lens which is heretofore known to be unusable for the double refractiveness is usable for the optical, such as magneto-optical disk device, utilizing the polarized light.
