In this optical tag system 1, ID is given to an optical tag 10 as identification information, and infrared emission is instructed to each optical tag 10, and the emission of the optical tag 10 is imaged by an infrared camera 23 of a recognizing part 20 so that the optical tag 10 can be recognized, and information relating to the optical tag 10 is recorded in a database, and the information recorded in the database is provided to a client. A plurality of pieces of ID are given to the optical tag 10, and the optical tag 10 is made to hold a function for executing different processing to each ID of the plurality of pieces of ID. Then, an infrared command including ID is transmitted from a recognizing part 20 to the optical tag 10, and the optical tag 10 detects the ID included in the received infrared command, and executes processing corresponding to the ID.
