When an optical (feedback) input obtained by feedback of an optical output of a laser diode LD1 in the optical transmission apparatus is amplified by an operational amplifier OP1 whose slew rate is reduced by a capacitor C1, the occurrence of ringing in the amplifier output is suppressed. The overshoot generated in the optical output is suppressed by a capacitor C2 which improves the balance of a feedback system. A driving signal is deformed by passing a low pass filter LPF1 to adjust the timing of logic inversion of a logic IC 2, thereby adjusting the distortion generated in the pulse width of the optical output to optimize it. Consequently, the less-distorted optical signal can be stably transmitted.
