Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber interconnecting device which is novel and is improved.
SOLUTION: The optical fiber interconnecting device 10 includes a flat-type pliable body member 14, which is delineated by the cavities of peripheral edges 16 of a projecting part. A plurality of optical fibers 18 are mounted at the body member 14 and the ends 18a of these optical fibers extend beyond the peripheral edges 16 and extend to different positions 16a of the peripheral edges 16. The method for manufacturing the optical fiber interconnecting device 10 includes the steps of preparing a flat-type peeling substrate 12 and adhering the flat-type pliable body member to this peeling substrate. After the plural optical fibers are mounted at the body member, the assembly of the body member and the optical fibers is stripped from the peeling substrate 12.
