Abstract:

To provide an optical transmission method capable of reducing construction cost of a system by allowing optical signals of the same wavelength to be used for both power feeding and control.

In the optical transmission method for transmitting a modulated optical signal S to optical transmission paths 3, 5 and using an electric signal output by a light reception element 20 having received the optical signal S for both power feeding and control on the reception side, the optical signal S transmitted to the optical transmission paths 3, 5 is made to act as a time-division multiplexed optical signal including a first optical signal S1 for power feeding and a second optical signal S2 for control having the same wavelength λ1 as that of the first one.
