Abstract:
To select transmission quality that corresponds to a user's demand.
A path switching device 10 adds a data identifier according to a control signal from a network management server 94 and distributes and divides the data identifier to an optional port. An optical transmitter 20 applies phase modulation to pulse light with a signal from a switch 10 and performs time division multiplexing and polarization multiplexing. An optical receiver 50 receives signal light that propagates through an optical transmission line 40 and demodulates a signal for each channel. The path switching device 10 distributes and combines received signals of each channel into an original signal according to the data identifier.
