The optical unit is provided with a first unit (light quantity adjusting unit SU) having a first case member 100 for housing an optical member (21), a light quantity adjusting mechanism 30, and an actuator 60 for light quantity adjustment, and a second unit (lens unit LU) having a second case member 200 for housing a lens group 22 and a lens driving actuator 70. The first unit (SU) and the second unit (LU) are mainly characterized in that both can be freely attachably and detachably coupled to and from each other by a coupling means CM disposed between the first case member 100 and the second case member 200.
