PURPOSE: To provide a connection sleeve, which can be inexpensively connected to the end part of an optical waveguide(OWG) or an optical fiber with a small optical transmission loss, and an OWG connector using this sleeve.

CONSTITUTION: With respect to a connection sleeve 1, an OWG insertion channel 8 to which the end part of the OWG or the optical fiber is inserted, an optical coupling means 6 like a convex lens whose inside face the end part of the OWG is brought into contact with, and an OWG holding part 3 are formed into one body. One or more connection sleeves 1 are inserted to the fitting end of a connector housing, thus obtaining the OWG connector.
