Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the width of an optical wavequide film by setting the width of the optical waveguide film in the direction parallel with an optical waveguide smaller than the width of hard plates, inserting core pins into the hard plates bored with holes and pinching both sides of the optical waveguide film by means of the core pins. CONSTITUTION:The width of the optical waveguide film 1 in the direction parallel with the optical waveguide is set smaller than the width of the hard plates 4, 5 thereof. the holes 15, 16 of the same position and the same size are bored at four corners of the optical waveguide film 1 and two sheets of the plates 4, 5 in such a manner that the optical waveguide is positioned parallel with the side faces of the plates 4, 5. The optical waveguide film 1 is then inserted between two sheets of the plates 4 and 5 and is fixed by adhering. The core pins 17, 18 of nearly the same shape as the shape of the holes are inserted into these holes to position the optical waveguide film 1 to the plates 4, 5. the width of the optical waveguide is made smaller than the width of the epoxy plates in this way.
