To provide an optical wavelength conversion device with a simple configuration and with high practicality.
When the strength (power) of a control light beam inputted from a control light beam input part 2 in a resonance type semiconductor light amplifier 1 becomes high, the strength of a controlled light beam outputted from the semiconductor light amplifier 1 also becomes high. On the contrary, when the strength of the control light beam becomes low, the strength of the controlled light beam also becomes low. Thereby, a signal can be moved from the wavelength of the control light beam to the wavelength of the controlled light beam. An inverting operation and a noninverting operation are possible by adjusting a positional relationship of the mountain of the resonance of the semiconductor light amplifier 1 and the controlled light beam in the initial state. Since a plurality of mountains of the resonance exist in the semiconductor light amplifier 1, signals can be moved in bloc in parallel to a plurality of wavelengths by using the light beam of the wavelength corresponding to each mountain as the controlled light beam.
