Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optically active functional fluid marker.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method of identifying fluid by measuring the amount of optical rotation the fluid causes in a beam of polarized light. The invention further provides use of an optional optically active marker in the fluid in order to effect the amount of rotation the fluid causes. The invention provides convenient and reliable means for identifying the fluid before, during and/or after use of the fluid. Another object of the invention is to provide a method to analyze functional fluid rapidly in the field. Further, another object of the present invention is to provide a method to test an attribute of the functional fluid in the field rapidly by untrained personnel and without precision measurement.
