Abstract:

To provide an optically driven type actuator reversibly deforming the structure by stimulation of light, having photoresponsive property in which responsive speed is practical, flexibility and lightweight property and silently driven; to provide a method for simply producing the optically driven type polymer actuator; and to provide a good material used for production of the optically driven type polymer actuator.

The optically driven type polymer actuator has a polymer deformed by receiving stimulation of light and utilizes deformation of the polymer as an actuator. The optically driven type polymer actuator has a copolymer obtained by polymerizing a monofunctional monomer having polymerizability with a polyfunctional monomer having polymerizability and containing a plurality of photoresponsive groups causing a structural change by receiving stimulation of light, and the copolymer changes the shape according to stimulation of light and has a function as the actuator.
