Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for optimizing an assembly work cell layout in the context of the CAD/CAM/CAE software product for industrial robots.
SOLUTION: The reference of performing minimization is a cycle time for completing a given work sequence (52) and it is achieved by deciding the relative positions of peripheral equipment on a work cell floor. The method is constitutional and respective machines are arranged one at a time near the robot by using a corrected simulated annealing method. In this method, since some possible positions and optimum position are led out for one machine, some layouts are obtained at the end (65) of execution.
