To provide an excellent optoelectric converter capable of feeding suitable signal power to a preamplifier connected to the optoelectric converter while always maintaining a high frequency characteristic within a desired light receiving power range, and to provide an optical receiving module and an optical receiver which use the optoelectric converter.
The optoelectric converter is provided with: a photodetector 1; a variable resistance circuit 13 wherein one end is connected to the photodetector and the other end is connected to a power supply; an optoelectric current detection circuit 15 wherein one end is connected to the photodetector and the other end is connected to a variable resistance control circuit 16; and the variable resistance control circuit wherein one end is connected to the optoelectric current detection circuit and the other end is connected to the variable resistance circuit. Thus, optical power is detected by the optoelectric current detection circuit and the variable resistance circuit is controlled by the variable resistance control circuit to change the load condition of the photodetector, thereby always controlling the output signal power of the signal optoelectric converter at a desired fixed value or lower to improve a large light receiving power characteristic and to suppress the deterioration of a high frequency characteristic at small light receiving power.
