PURPOSE: To enhance the airtightness and the reliability of a photocoupling part and to reduce an amount of light due to the diffused reflection of waterdrops adhering to a light-emitting element package when an ambient temperature is lowered.
CONSTITUTION: A photoelectronic device is provided with a structure wherein, after the axis of a light-emitting element 4 has been aligned with the axis of a photodetection part 8A in an optical fiber, a light-emitting element package 5 whose material is different is welded, connected and fixed, and the light- emitting element package 5 is sealed hermetically. In the photoelectronic device, an auxiliary member 6 composed of the same material as the light-emitting element package 5 or composed of a material easily weldabe to the light- emitting element package 5 is interposed between the light-emitting element package 5 and an optical-fiber ferrule main body (an optical-fiber holding member) 7, and the light-emitting element package 5 is fixed airtightly to the optical- fiber ferrule main body 7.
