PURPOSE: To obtain oral BCG capsules capable of retaining the potency for a long time, easily and accurately at a low cost, by freeze-drying a liquid BCG vaccine poured into capsules made of a water-soluble material before dissolution.

CONSTITUTION: The capsules 3 made of a water-soluble material, e.g. gelatin or PVP, are placed in the hollows (about 100W200) of the holder 1 having good thermal conductivity, e.g. aluminum, with the openings upward, and placed on the table 4. A liquid BCG vaccine is poured into the capsules 3 in given amounts almost simultaneously, immediately frozen and freeze-dried below the freezing temperature. The capsules are released from the holder 1 and sealed in a container in a dried state to give oral BCG capsules.

EFFECT: Simultaneous pouring permits immediate freezing of all vaccine, and causes no dissolving of the outer capsules.
