To provide a method for administering biologically active materials in the field of the liposome-based drug delivery system, and to provide a liposome-capsule dosage unit therefor.

The liposome-capsule dosage unit includes a liposome encapsulating a biologically active material therein. The method for administering biologically active materials involves a process of introducing the liposome-capsule dosage unit including the liposome encapsulating the biologically active material therein, into a subject. The delivery system is particularly suitable for the followings: (1) biologically active materials poor in oral solubility; (2) newly discovered drugs, proteins and peptides, which are not absorbed or poorly absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract; and (3) drugs, proteins, hormones and nutrients, which are not absorbed from the GI tract and are subjected to invasive administration.
