PURPOSE: To obtain an oral and perrectal nutrient composition containing an enzymatically decomposed material of wheat gluten as an nitrogen source, having good taste, hardly causing browning in a shape of a heat-sterilized liquid material or soluble powder, readily drinkable because of low viscosity, being inexpensive and capable of stably feeding a large amount of glutamine.

CONSTITUTION: This composition contains preferably 40-80wt.% of an enzymatically decomposed material of a wheat gluten as a nitrogen source and contains a casein, a hydrolyzate of milk casein, a whey protein, a hydrolyzate of a whey protein, a hydrolyzate of a soybean protein, a soybean protein, a hen egg protein and a hydrolyzate of the hen egg protein as nitrogen sources other than the enzymatically decomposed material.
