Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orbit plane control method for a satellite, capable of achieving orbit control substantially equivalent to control by such a satellite as having a thruster with a high thrust force level, while reducing the size and weight of the satellite without impairing the mission of a main satellite.SOLUTION: An orbit plane control method for a satellite introduces a plurality of small satellites 11, which are launched along with a main satellite, into respective target orbits. The method changes the orbit altitudes of the small satellites 11 introduced into the target orbit S1 of the main satellite by using a thruster with a low thrust force level, and introduces the plurality of satellites 11 into the respective target orbits S5 by utilizing transitions of orbit planes resulting from the flat property of earth's gravitational field at the orbit altitudes.
