To provide filter cloth for a filter press mountable on an ordinary filter plate of the filter press, while suppressing the occurrence of winkles, partial tension or looseness.

The cloth for the filter press is mounted on the ordinary filter plate of the compression type filter press apparatus, the ordinary filter plate being provided with a rectangular frame and protruded parts radially disposed around a raw liquid hole on a filtering face formed thinner than the thickness of the frame inside the frame, drilled with a second raw liquid hole allowing flow of the raw liquid as a filtering object, and protruded in the thickness direction of the ordinary filter plate. A coated part 27 is provided at a contact part with the protruded parts, having roughly the same flat form as the bottom faces of the protruded parts, and the coated part 27 expands and contracts in the roughly diagonal direction, when a rectangle circumscribed to the flat form is drawn.
