To facilitate adoption of an optical resonator structure in the organic EL element of a top face emitting type organic EL display device.
The organic EL display device includes a front electrode 43 having light reflectivity and light permeability, a back electrode 41, and an organic layer 42 intervening between the front electrode 43 and the back electrode 41 and including a luminescent layer 421. The front electrode 43 is equipped with the organic EL element 40 including a metal material layer 431 facing the organic layer 421, an electron injection layer 432 comprising an inorganic layer intervening between the metal material layer 431 and the organic layer 42, and an optical adjustment layer 433 which covers the metal material layer 431 and in which light discharged from the organic layer 42 reflectively interferes again and again.
