Abstract:
To provide a high-efficiency organic EL element by improving a light take-out method useful for the organic EL element.
In this organic EL element, at least one organic thin film layer 904 is sandwiched by a pair of electrodes 903, 905 at least one of which is a metal electrode. The organic EL element has a high refractive index layer 902 having a higher refractive index that the organic thin film layer. The organic EL element is formed with a layer 903 which contacts with the high refractive index layer 902, and wherein minute spheres of a material having a different refractive index are dispersed in a medium.
