Abstract:

To obtain an organic coagulating agent excellent in coagulation and decoloration effects and a polymeric flocculating agent excellent in an increase of floc size, increase of floc strength and performances such as decoloration of a filtrate and decrease of COD (chemical oxygendemand).

The organic coagulating agent is composed of a (co) polymer (A) the essential constituent unit of which is a monomer shown in the formula (1) or its salt (a), or (a) and a monomer shown in the formula (2) or its salt(b). The polymeric flocculating agent is formed by combining the above organic coagulating agent and other water-soluble (co)polymer. (CH2=CR1-CH2)2R2N, formula (1) (CH2=CR3-CH2)2R4N, formula (2) [wherein, R1 and R3 are each H or methyl group, R2 is an aryl alkyl or alkyl aryl group, R4 is H or a C1-16 alkyl group].
