PURPOSE: The titled composition capable of forming a tough film having high gloss and quick-drying properties, obtained by emulsifying a mixture consisting of specific fats and oils, natural resin, synthetic resin, and a specific monomer into water, followed by copolymerizing it.

CONSTITUTION: A mixture comprising (A) 5W95wt% fats and oils (e.g., linseed oil, etc.) wherein main constitutional components are fatty acids, one of more of the fatty acids have two or more double bonds, and its iodine value is ≥100, (B) 5W95wt% natural resin and/or synthetic resin (e.g., polybutadiene resin, etc.) of high polymer with low molecular weight, having an average molecular weight of 500W4,000 and an active double bond in the unit bond, and (C) 1W30wt% monomer (e.g., acrylic acid amide, etc.) containing an active double bond, is emulsified into water, and it is copolymerized in the presence of a polymerization initiator, to give the desired composition.
