Title:
ORGANIC EL DRIVE CIRCUIT AND ORGANIC EL DISPLAY DEVICE USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2005037915
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an organic EL drive circuit which is small in the circuit scale of an additional circuit and can be reduced in electric power consumption by suppressing an increase of the circuit scale of a current drive circuit when the organic EL drive circuit is formed in an IC together with the additional circuit for the purpose of the electric power consumption reduction.

An input side transistor of a current-mirror circuit (a current duplicating/distributing circuit) of parallel output which duplicates and distributes the current to be passed to terminal pins or the current to be the foundation thereof as a mirror current corresponding to the terminal pins is provided with a switch circuit in parallel or series thereto. The switch circuit is then ON/OFF controlled. The driving of the input side transistor is averted by such ON/OFF control if the display data stored into a memory (for example, a resistor) relating to the terminal pins for one line component is the data to make the organic EL element non-lighting. As a result, when the organic EL elements for the one line component are not lighted, all the currents of the circuits including the current duplicating/distributing circuit and beyond the same can be stopped.
