To mitigate stress exerted by an upper electrode due to division of the upper electrode into a plurality of regions by a partition wall, and also adequately prevent see-through phenomenon in the partition wall part in an organic EL element including a light-emitting pixel obtained by holding an organic film composed of an organic material between the upper electrode and a lower electrode in which the upper electrode is divided by the partition wall.
A partition wall 80 for dividing an organic film 30 and an upper electrode 40 into a plurality of regions 51 and 52 is disposed on a lower electrode 20 in a region of a light emitting pixel 50. A metal auxiliary electrode 90, which is a shading part and an auxiliary electrode of the lower electrode 20, is disposed between the partition wall 80 and the lower electrode 20. End portions of the metal auxiliary electrode 90 extending to a laminate part of the upper electrode 40 and the organic film 30 which are located on both sides of the partition wall 80 enter a portion between the organic film 30 and the lower electrode 20, thereby allowing for the presence of overlapped regions S1 overlapped with the upper electrode 40 with the organic film 30 interposed therebetween.
