Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable organic EL element with low driving power voltage with element reliability such as suppressed leak obtained from the use of an insulation layer or a resistance layer as a hole injection layer and with shortcoming prevented of increase of driving power voltage.
SOLUTION: The organic EL element is composed of a hole injection electrode 2, an electron injection electrode 8 and of one or more kinds of organic layers 4, 5, 6 between these two electrodes. At least one layer 5 of the organic layers has a luminescence function, and an inorganic oxide electron injection layer 7 is arranged between the organic layer 5 with the luminescence function and the electron injection electrode 8. The inorganic oxide electron injection layer 7 contains molybdenum oxide as a first component and contains, as a second component, one or more kinds of metal or metal oxide with a work function of not more than 3 eV.
