Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which exhibits high luminous efficiency, has a long emission life, and is reduced in luminance unevenness with reduced dark spots, and a lighting device and a display device using the organic EL element.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element comprises at least an anode, a light-emitting layer, an electron transport layer, and a cathode as constituent layers. The light-emitting layer contains at least a host compound and a metal complex. The organic electroluminescent element is characterized in that: the light-emitting layer contains a group 8-10 metal complex bonded to a specific ligand; and the electron transport layer contains a compound having a carbazolyl group.
