To provide an organic electroluminescent device having improved display performance by reducing the film thickness unevenness of a functioning film formed in a drop discharge method, and to provide a method of manufacturing the same and electronic apparatus.
The organic electroluminescent device includes a first electrode 11, functioning layers including at least an organic luminescent layer and a second electrode provided in an opening 14a of a barrier 14, at least one of the functioning layers being formed in the drop discharge method. The opening of the opening is formed in an elliptical shape with a major axis X and a minor axis Y. A height (a) of a first barrier portion 141 of the barrier 14 along the direction of the minor axis Y of the opening 14a is greater than a height (b) of a second barrier portion 142 thereof along the direction of the major axis X of the opening 14a.
