NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I (R1 and R2 are H, lower alkyl or phenyl; m is 0 or positive integer).
EXAMPLE: The dehydrative condensate of 6-[3-( trihydroxygermyl )-3-phenylpropionylamino]-penicillanic acid.
USE: An immunoactivator, antineoplastic agent and interferon-inducing agent.
PREPARATION: The objective compound can be produced by (1) condensing the carboxylic acid derivative of formula II (e.g. cinnamic acid) with the amine derivative of formula III [e.g. 6-aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA)], (2) adding trichlorogermane to the resultant unsaturated compound of formula IV [e.g. 6-(cinnamoylamino)-penicillanic acid] under cooling or at room temperature, and (3) hydrolyzing the obtained trichloro-compound of formula V in the presence of a basic catalyst such as ammonia.
