Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease a light propagation loss by applying a compsn. consisting of a specific compd. and photoinitiator on a base, then forming a light guide by a photolithographic method. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. contg. the bromine compd. expressed by formula I, the polystyrene compd. contg. the repeating unit expressed by formula II and the photoinitiator is formed to a film shape on a base having the refractive index lower than the refractive index of the polymer of said compsn. and thereafter, the light guide is formed by the photolithographic method. In formula I, X denotes CH2, C(CH3)2, CH=CH, O or SO2; R denotes CH3 or H; R1 denotes COCH=CH2, COC(CH3)=CH2 or H: R2 denotes COCH=CH2 or COC(CH3)=CH2; n+m denotes integer in the range of 0-4. In formula II, Y denotes H, CH3, CH=CH2, OCH3 or Cl. The small light propagation loss and the high refractive index are thereby obtd. and the light loss in an optical branching/coupling part is decreased.
