To provide an apparatus for the carbonization of an organic material, having increased overall thermal efficiency of the apparatus and meeting the efficient treatment of hardly disposable tar component such as generated wood vinegar and exhaust gas and provide a carbonization furnace absolutely free from the generation of bridge in the furnace to efficiently produce a uniform carbonization product by reexamining the structure of the carbonization furnace.
The apparatus for the carbonization of organic material is composed of a material storage site 1 having a hot floor 2, a wood crusher 3, a wood chip drier 4, a wood chip feeder 5, a carbonization furnace 6 and exhaust gas combustion furnaces 7, 8 in the case of using wood chip as a raw material. Even the wood vinegar in the exhaust gas is burned at a high temperature in the exhaust gas combustion furnaces 7, 8. The apparatus has pipes for feeding the hot exhaust gas to the carbonization furnace 6, the material storage site 1 and the drier 4. The carbonization furnace 6 heated with the hot exhaust gas has a conical wall 27 expanding downward as the inner wall of the furnace body. The exhaust gas combustion furnaces 7, 8 are provided with a steam generator 30, and the steam pipe 31 from the steam generator 30 is connected to a hot gas feeding port 26 or an exhaust gas discharging port 23 of the carbonization furnace 6.
