Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a polymeric coloring agent used for thermoplastic and thermosetting resins and having good dispersibility by contacting a metal-free organic compound having sulfonylhalide groups or sulfonate ester groups or both of these groups with a reactant containing poly(oxyalkylene) moieties under sulfonamido forming conditions.
CONSTITUTION: This material comprises a metal-free organic compound represented by the formula: A'[SO2N(R1)-Y](1 to 6) [wherein A' is an organic group (comprising, e.g. an anthraquinone compound); Y is a (un)substituted polymer component at least about 50% of which contains a 2-4C epoxide-reactive residue and about 30-100 wt.% poly(oxyalkylene) moieties having a degree of polymerization of 4 to 200; and R1 is one selected from H, Y, a (un) substituted alkyl, aryl and cycloalkyl]. It is produced by contacting a material containing 1 to 6 sulfonylhalide groups or sulfonate ester groups or both of these groups with a reactant containing at least one poly(oxyalkylene) moiety under sulfonamido forming conditions.
