NEW MATERIAL: A compd. of formula I [M is ruthenium, iron, cobalt; R1 is cyclopentadienyl, methylcyclopentadienyl, pentamethylcyclopentadienyl, indenyl; Q1 is (R2)2Z (X is phosphorus, arsenic; R2 is allyl, an alkyl), carbonyl; Q2 is (R2)3Z, carbonyl; A is phenyl, biphenyl, formula II; Y is a 3 to 7C straight chain alkyl, alkoxy, when A is phenyl, N(R3)2 (R3 is a 1 to 5C alkyl); X- is PF6-, BF6-].
EXAMPLE: A raw material for a Langmuir-Brodgett film.
PROCESS: A compd. of formula III and a compd. of formula IV are refluxed in an ammonium hexafluorofine-contg. methanol and the solvent is removed by vacuum evaporation. The residue is then subjected to a choromatography analysis on V-class alumina.
