Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic molecule (Schiff base molecule)-including composite and a method of its manufacturing, and detection method/recovery method for transition metal ions in water using this composite.SOLUTION: This composite comprises an organic molecule (Schiff base) and alumina nano particles having an aspect ratio of 30-5,000, and the specific surface area and pore volume of the composite are not greater than 10 m/g and not greater than 0.01 cm/g respectively, compared with those of the self-supporting membrane before including the organic molecule, not smaller than 100 m/g and not smaller than 0.05 cm/g, respectively. In this method of manufacturing an organic molecule-including composite, the organic molecule-including composite and fibrous alumina self-supporting membrane of various forms are heated and dehydrated, and the organic molecule is vaporized in a vacuum environment and it is adsorbed and filled up in the slit-like pore at a high density and uniformly in the entire composite. The detection method/recovery method for transition metal ions are also provided and the composite is useful for the detection method for transition metal ions, for example, transition metal ions dissolved in water.
