PURPOSE: To obtain the titled composition showing excellent residual activity and further raised effects of insecticide, by controlling the average particle diameter, film thickness and ratio of average particle diameter/film thickness of microcapsule to specific ranges and packing an organic phosphorous insecticide for agriculture and horticulture into a polyurea coating film.
CONSTITUTION: An organic phosphorous insecticide (especially preferably O,O- dimethyl O-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl)phosphorothioate) is packed into a polyurea coating film having ≤80μm average particle diameter, ≤0.3μm film thickness and the ratio of average particle diameter/film thickness of ≥250 to give an agricultural and horticultural microcapsulated insecticide composition. The composition is applicable to insect pests of crops in paddy fields, vegetable plowed fields and orchards, such as Spodoptera litura Fabricius, green caterpillar, Chilo suppressalis Walker, cockroaches and stinbugs. The composition has also rain resistance.
