Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor excellent in various characteristics such as electrification characteristics, electric charge retentivity, sensitivity, residual potential and image forming property and preventing a change in the characteristics even after repeated use over a long period of time by using an azo compd. having a specified compsn. as a carrier generating material.
CONSTITUTION: An azo compd. represented by formula I is used as an org. photoconductive material. In the formula I, B is a divalent org. residue bonding to azo group forming N atoms, A1 is a group represented by formula II [where X is a substd. or unsubstd. arom. hydrocarbon ring condensed with a benzene ring, etc., Y is H, alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, (m) is an integer of 0-4, R is a substd. or unsubstd. arom. cyclic hydrocarbon group or a substd. or unsubstd. arom. heterocyclic group and (n) is 1 or 2] and A2 is a residue of a coupler having a phenolic OH group or a group represented by formula III(where R shows the same group as R in the formula II).
