Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composite, containing a Ti-based compound oxide, having a developed skeleton, firmly bound and uniformly dispersed therein and useful as an adsorbent from a specific titanium alkoxide and a specified metallic alkoxide according to a specific method.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composite is obtained by making (A) a titanium alkoxide expressed by the formula Ti(OR)4-Qn [R is short-chain alkyl; Q is acyloxy containing a polymerizable unsaturated bond; (n) is 1 or 2] and having the acyloxy bond having the polymerizable unsaturated bond coexist with (B) a metallic alkoxide without assuming a perovskite type crystal structure with titanium (e.g. zinc diethoxide) to carry out the polymerizing reaction of the acyloxy group in the component (A) and simultaneously performing the cohydrolytic polycondensing reaction of the alkoxy groups in the components (A) and (B). The component (A) is preferably obtained by reacting a titanium tetraalkoxide containing a short-chain alkoxy such as titanium tetraethoxide with a carboxylic acid anhydride containing a polymerizable unsaturated bond such as acrylic acid anhydride.
