To provide an organosilane compound useful in the synthesis of an organic silica having functions such as a refractive index controlling function, a light absorption function, a light-emitting function and an electric charge transportation function.
The organosilane comprises a predetermined organic group including a phenylene group, a biphenylene group, a naphthylene group, a bipyridylene group, a vinylene group or a methylene group as a skeletal organic group. By using this organosilane compound, various organic silica having a refractive index controlling function, a light absorption function, a light-emitting function, an electric charge transportation function or the like can be synthesized by utilizing the general organic synthesis reactions, for example, coupling reactions including Suzuki, Sonogashira, Negishi, Kumada-Tamao, Kosugi-Migita-Stille reactions and amination reactions.
