Abstract:

To provide a method for recovering an organic solvent inside a colored resin particle as much as possible without breaking the colored resin particle into small pieces and an organic solvent recycling method by which the load to be imposed on the environment is made smaller.

The organic solvent recovering method comprises a step A to leach/separate the organic solvent in/from the particle by bringing water into countercurrent contact with a liquid prepared by dispersing the swollen colored resin particle in water, a step B to bring another organic solvent, which is water-insoluble and compatible with the organic solvent in the particle and has the boiling point greatly different from that of the organic solvent in the particle, into countercurrent contact with the liquid mixture obtained at the step A and separate it into water and a mixture of the organic solvents, and a step C to separate the mixture obtained at the step B into each of the organic solvents by distillation and recover them individually. This organic solvent recycling method comprises a step X to prepare the liquid by dispersing the swollen colored resin particles in water as the preceding step of the step A and the above-mentioned organic solvent recovering method. The organic solvent obtained at the step C is used at the step X and the other organic solvent obtained at the step C is used at the step B.
