Abstract:

To provide an organic waste treatment method and apparatus which improves energy balance, and efficiency of an anaerobic digestion process by increasing the amount of generated methane gas.

Sludge and at least a kind of other organic wastes are mixed by a mixing device 5. The mixed sludge is solubilized with high-temperature, high-pressure hot water in a hydrothermal treatment device 7. The mixed sludge solubilized by the hydrothermal treatment device 7 is biologically treated by an anaerobic digestion treatment device 8 in an anaerobic environment.
