Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve corrosion resistance without incorporating hexavalent Cr into a coating film by forming a polymer chelating agent-base coating film in a specified thickness on the surface of a Zn or Al plated steel sheet and forming an org. resin coating film or an org. composite silicate coating film on the polymer chelating agent-base coating film.
SOLUTION: The thickness of the polymer chelating agent-base coating film is 0.01-5 μm. The polymer chelating agent is, e.g. a chelating agent having alkylenephosphoric acid groups as N-substituents bonded to N atoms of a polyamino compd. obtd. by copolymerizing polyamines with a compd. represented by the formula, wherein X is epoxy or CHO, Y is S, O or N-R' (R' is 1-4C alkyl), Z is epoxy, CHO or H, R1 and R2 are each H or 1-60C alkyl, R1 and R2 may be the same or different, (n) is an integer of 0-5 and (m) is a positive integer.
