To provide an organism information authentication lock capable of unlocking a lock device such as a padlock even when a key is lost and preventing the device from being unlocked by a third person.
This organism information authentication lock is provided with a latch 101 serving as a locking member, a main body section 102, a latch opening/closing mechanism 107 locking or unlocking (releasing) the latch on the main body section, and a fingerprint authentication device 103. The fingerprint authentication device is provided with a sensor detecting a fingerprint image, a processor, and a memory device registering the fingerprint image of a user. The processor collates the fingerprint image detected by the sensor with the fingerprint registered in the memory device and controls the latch opening/closing mechanism to release the locking of the latch locked to the main body section when they coincide with each other as a result of the collation.
